The Super Sons have found themselves in a parallel Dimension! An evil wizard name Kraklow from the boys’ dimension has taken the place of his good counterpart in this one. Teaming up with the sentient evil planet Ygarddis, they have created clay Superheroes and sent them to attack the young heroes!
We start the issue right in the heat of battle, as Jon and Damian get the opportunity to show off a little bit, as they easily dispatch one clay hero after the other. The sentient planet Ygarddis is another story, however, and he easily grabs the two boys and their new friends, Big Shot and Hardline. Ygarddis throws them into a cave somewhere inside himself, but they aren’t alone. The four young heroes find the evil Kraklow from their dimension. He has been betrayed by Ygarddis, and explains everything that has happened to him to the Super Sons and their companions. Kraklow laments all of his regrets and they all decide to work together.
The unlikely allies discuss a plan to stop Ygarddis, and he interrupts them before they can get to far. Superboy and Robin do their best to fight back, but are helpless against a sentient planet. To make matters worse, Kraklow reverts back to his evil ways and decides to aid Ygarddis in creating destruction, declaring that finally the world will remember his name. He reopens the portal to attack his home dimension, then suddenly sends Ygarddis through it! It turns out to have been a portal out to space, and Kraklow was faking his heel turn. Kraklow decides to stay as a mentor to Big Shot and Hardline, and he creates a proper portal to send Robin and Superboy home.
One last thing: Big Shot and Hardline were a lot of fun, and I doubt that’s the last we’ll see of them.
