Story so Far:

The Hunter must transcend the hunt by seeking paleblood. The Hunter must end the Hunt. Seek blood, Hunter. The cycle never ends. Ever. The nightmare is a never ending labyrinth for the Hunter. As the Hunter slowly realizes how many times they have made a journey similar, and how many times they have failed at this exact journey, exhaustion seeps in. The Hunter questions everything around them, but unfortunately, no answers come. When seeking guidance from Gehrman, the Hunter realizes how futile questions truly are. No answers are given, and the Hunter returns back to transcend the hunt. The Doll cannot answer anything, and the Hunter remains blissfully unaware of the Presence lurking above them at all times…

What Just Happened:

The Hunter and the Paleblood child continue their dangerous trek after being patched up by the doctor. The Hunter was told to not return until the hunt ends. Unfortunately for the Hunter, unless something changes, they know that they will never return. The Hunt is a terrible cycle that has not been broken yet. We see the Hunter and the child wandering as far as they can trying to break free. The Beast that has been chasing them from the beginning still trails behind them. Rapidly closing in. Time grows short for the Hunter and the child, what will happen? Can they make it further along and avoid the Beast?

This issue was very much a plot-device to move things along. Not too much happened, and that’s fine with me. We get more glimpses into the Hunter’s mental state instead, which proved to be fascinating. We can see how exhausted they are, and just how long the cycle has been going on. Who knows how long this has been going on? Certainly not the Hunter, nor the child. I’m excited to see how this will end. The game was so expansive with the lore you could discover. This plot is completely new, and it is just fantastic. The artwork is, as always, breathtaking. Kudos, everyone, you did it again. Pick up the comic! You won’t regret it.

The Hunter and Paleblood child continue to attempt to leave the nightmare. As their journey progresses, we see how perception changes everything. The comic has been a ride from start to finish, and I'm excited to see where it will go.
  • More emotions shown from the Hunter.
  • Slow issue.
