Disney and Jon Favreau have revealed a bit more information on their new Disney Play streaming service collaboration, now titled “The Mandalorian”, a Star Wars series focusing around the race made famous by bounty hunter Bobba Fett in the original trilogy.
In a new post on his Instagram account, Favreau explains that the show will be set between the events of the Fall of the Empire, and the rise of the First Order, so Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi and Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens. Favreau mentioned that the series would focus on a Mandalorian gunslinger, set the far reaches of the galaxy, away from the New Republic.
Favreau himself is no stranger to Star Wars, or Mandalore itself, voicing the Mandalorian soldier Pre Visla, leader of Death Watch through several seasons of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. More details about the series are still scare, as is a release date for the series itself, or the streaming service set to host it.
