After a bad encounter with Solomon Grundy, Artemis and Red Hood are left with no other choice but to put Bizarro’s life in the hands of Lex Luthor in order to save him.
What You’ll Need To Know:
Bizarro is a clone of Superman but with faulty genetics. They implanted Superman’s memories into his but he quickly learns that that is not his reality. He was rescued by Red Hood and Artemis. When he was in the captivity of Black Mask. Red Hood feels a close emotional bond to Bizarro and blames himself for his death in the past issue. Artemis feels as though she is a “Shim’tar” to Bizarro- a protector. Bizarro was in a really bad condition after The Outlaws battled Akila (Artemis’s turned psycho ex-bestfriend) in Qurac, but fought anyways and sacrificed himself for the team since there was no way Jason and Artemis could have handled Grundy on their own.
What You’ll Find Out:
Red Hood and Artemis contemplate whether leaving Bizarro in Lex Luthor’s hands was a terrible mistake or the only way to save his life. Jason says that Bruce does trust Luthor (weird, right?) but he refuses to. Luthor is definitely not someone with a clean past and has to screw someone over in the end. If he does succeed on bringing Bizarro back, will he be the same?
Final Thoughts: There was an interesting twist in the end. I think we’ll get to see a lot more as the arc opens up and if this deal bites them in the ass. I liked how we got to see Bizarro open up a bit and witness his whole point of view of things.
Nothing changed, I still love the art in this series.
