What You Need to Know:
Finally, we have come to the end of The Predator’s Arc and the beginning of the long awaited Gwenom (aka Spider Gwen + Venom = Gwenom) Arc. Gwen has teamed with Wolverine and Shadowcat from Earth 616 to fight Lizard Harry Osborn and free him of this Symbiote, otherwise known as Venom. He is a creature that was created of Spider Woman’s abilities and the regenerative power of the Lizard that seems to have taken a life of its own.
Meanwhile, George Stacy has been taken to the Hospital and is in intensive care after being brutally attacked by Rhino, Aleeksei Sytesvich, under the request of Matt Murdock. Unfortunately for Gwen, she has no idea what has happened to him.
In This Issue:
The Symbiote has been freed from Harry and is anxious to find a new host – in this case: Wolverine! Realizing that Kitty is not going to stop until he is freed, Wolverine uses an Ultrasonic Wave device he uses to keep Kitty focused on her. Unfortunately, it influenced himself and the Symbiote in a way none of them realized. This gives Gwen an idea on how to free him. Meanwhile, Matt Murdock’s friend, District Attorney Foggy Nelson is at the Hospital watching as Detective Dewolf begins to realize that perhaps George Stacy’s attack was planned. Murdock assures him that he is fine and decides to go after Gwen himself.
After a brief battle with Wolverine, he is freed of the Symbiote and he and Kitty make a run for it. Leaving Gwen alone with the Symbiote, who wants nothing more than to merge with her, despite Gwen’s best efforts. As this is happening. Murdock mocks Gwen for not being in control, only to find perhaps she has more control then both realize, until he reveals what has happened to her father. Only then does Gwen lose control and allow the Symbiote to take over so that the new “Gwenom” can seek revenge on those who have hurt her beloved father.
