The “Netflix For Comic Fans” Coming Soon!
Starting November 21st, what is being called the new revolutionary app being described as the “Netflix for indie comics” is launching in beta on IOS and Andriod.
Comichaus, the app that started as a website to suppport and profile small and indie comic book creators and building a marketplace/database for indie comics, has now taken the leap to work on providing acces to Indie books for lesser known creators by including featured releases as well as “most read” comics. Comichause will allow users to stream and discover the indie comics in their catalogue, search and filter by genre, creator, and title, as well as save comics for reading offline for those with limted data plans.
Subscription is looking to be around £3 per month with a £30 per year option available. A 50/50 split of the profits made with Comchaus will be given to the creators of these books which will be a great way of supporting them as they create their projects.
Pete Genepool, Comichaus’s founded, speaks highly of his creation and seems very driven to help indie comics thrive in today’s market:
“The creators themselves are so passionate, it is impossible to resist when you see the products everyone creates whilst still holding down day jobs and working so hard. They need to be seen by more people!”
The app helps raise awareness of the books Comichaus have been showcasing while building the creators’ profiles in order to fund future print issues. All the print issues for sale on Comichaus are also linked to the app so if a reader likes what they’ve read, they can buy a physical copy and find out more about the other comics their favourite creator has been involved in.
