“He’s Back” Black Lightning Promotion Charges Up In Full Force

DC and CW are turning up the voltage on promotion for their newest TV series, Black Lightning. Having released both the “Veins” teaser,

the “Origins” teaser,

and the “Get Lit” promo poster.

All in preperation for this premiere in Januart, CW amps it up once again by releasing a new trailer entitled “Ressurection”.

The trailer begins with narration by Tobias Whale (played by Marvin “Krondon” Jones III) asking someone if they believe in the ressurection. This seems to elude to the idea that Black Lightning has returned and in Whale’s own word, is “bad for business”. With the trailer proceeding, we see Jefferson Pierce, high school Principal, struggling with his destiny as he sees The One Hundred gang terrorizing his community, and his school. After years of retirement, it appears to be time for lightning to strike once again.

With the season premiere approaching, We can only hope that this hero of the weak can maintain a presense on the CW Network along with the likes of other heroes such as Green Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl. Producer Greg Berlanti even saying that there is the possibility of Black Lightning connecting to the “Arrowverse” as time goes on, it’s up to the show runners to create a great product, and for the viewers to tune in and support what looks to be a action packed, story driven show.

The series stars Cress Williams as former hero-turned high school principal Jefferson Pierce, who gets pulled back into the fight, after nine years away, when those he cares about in the crosshairs of the menacing local gang The One Hundred.

The series also stars Nafessa Williams as Anissa Pierce (later known as the superheroine Thunder), China Anne McClain as Jennifer Pierce (AKA the heroine Lightning), Jill Scott as Lady Eve, Chantal Thuy as Grace Choi, James Remar as Peter Gambi, and Damn Gupton as Inspector Henderson.
