According to an article posted earlier today by Variety, Warner Bros. has announced that Walter Hamada will be replacing Geoff Johns and John Berg as the new head of DC films.
While his name might not ring a bell, Hamada has definitely made a name for himself in the cinema showbiz as the executive producer of modern horror films such as The Conjuring movies, Annabelle: Creation, and most recently, It. Considering his work, it may seem odd for Warner Bros. to pick him, but keep in mind that they also chose James Wan, the director of The Conjuring movies, the Insidious movies, and the Saw movies to direct Aquaman, which is set to come out in December. Coincidence? I think not.
Even though the artistic tone and style of the films are ultimately in the hands of the director, as the new head of the department, Hamada will definitely have control over the grand scheme of the DCEU, including who directs which film.
What do you think this means for the DCEU? Let us know in the comment section down below!
Nothing but love.
