AVENGERS #1 Leads Relaunch
On the heels of the Marvel LEGACY, there’s a lot of newness on it’s way from Marvel Comics. Across various lines of Marvel, there will be many reboots and changes revitalization of characters. As previously reported, the Editor in Chief, C.B. Cebulski and Chief Creative Officer, Joe Quesada, are more excited than we are about the relaunch of the last relaunch. These issues boast all-new creative teams, new directions, new storylines to generate new excitement all across the Marvel Universe. Senior Vice President and Executive Editor Tom Brevoort assures us this is not a completely new slate, “…while these new starts will kick off with new #1s , we’ll be maintaining the classic LEGACY issue counts as dual numbering on these titles as well.”

The Avengers’ roster includes the return of the “Big Three” together again with the original Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor, along with the Jennifer Walters Hulk, Ghost Rider, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, and Dr. Strange. The all new Marvel Avengers will kick off starting in May, written by Jason Aaron (The Mighty Thor, Star Wars) and art by Ed McGuinness (Superman, Hulk, Deadpool). Aaron reports to IGN that this is a team going to interesting locations with intentional conflict among the teammates. “They’re not exactly all warm and fuzzy with each other,” Aaron describes jokingly.
