“I LOVE YOU TOO” (Batman #41 Comic Review)

Batman #41: EVERYONE LOVES IVY “Part One”!

Script: Tom King

Art and Cover: Mikel Janin

Letters: Clayton Cowles

Color: June Chung

Plants are all around our world and what will happen if Pamela Isley set her sights on controlling the entire world? With her influence on vegetation the world is for the taking and right in her hands. What will Batman and Catwoman do when they realize they are the only two left without Ivy’s control?

What you need to know:

This is not a continuation to the “Super Friends” story arc, but a new epic arc that has brought b back artist Mikel Janin back since we last saw Tom King and Mikel Janin working together in the amazing War of Jokes and Riddles. This time things are taken to a grander scale; so grand that everyone around the world is in love with one person. Can Batman and Catwoman find out how to stop the epidemic in time or is it too late for the human race?

What you’ll find out:

With the earth being covered about 30% by forests and about 50% of plant productivity, there are plants of every type in all corners of the world. In Gotham City there is a villain with an ability to control all plant life, and this time she is pushing her powers past her limits. This story arc we find Batman and Catwoman alone with no help from the Bat-family or the Justice League, they will be tested as they must work together to find out how things have come to pass and figure a way to end the LOVE.

What just happened?

“I LOVE YOU.” As Bruce finds himself dreaming of another woman and hearing her voice inside his head, he begins to realize that something is drastically wrong. Fighting off the voices Bruce injects himself with a serum that will protect him and Selina, but things are worst then left to believe at first. The world is being influenced by Posion Ivy and her reach on plant life is unmatched. Somehow she has control of everyone and Batman and Catwoman must quickly find a way to stop this global disaster, stop Poison Ivy, and put things back the way they were.

Ok… so this story arc started insane! Usually Poison Ivy fights Batman in Gotham and she uses her plants to fight him IN Gotham, but this time just wow. She has somehow in some way has full controlled over everyone on Earth and her plants are out stretching around Gotham creating some type of plant castle. With Tom King and Mikel Janin back working together, you know they will give us something amazing in the next issues. I’m calling it now; Poison Ivy is doing something like M. Night Shyamalan move The Happing. If you haven’t seen it yet go watch it as soon as possible and then you’ll understand what I’m talking about. Either way Poison Ivy looks like she’s ready to be the queen of earth. What Batman and Catwoman do next we’ll just have to wait and see, hopefully they do it quick. I feel sorry for The Flash’s face.
