Finding himself outmanned and outgunned the Punisher is now under fire. The forces of Chernaya have brought their own armored suits to kill the Punisher. They’ve damaged his War Machine armor blasting him into the ocean…the struggle for survival starts now…
Things commence with Punisher down but certainly not out. After being blasted into the ocean at the end of the last issue he gets picked up in a net by fishermen. Coming too he demands to be taken to land to continue his fight against the rogue state of Chernaya. Since the armor is malfunctioning Punisher goes back to basics when he sneaks up on an armor clad enemy during a military movement having him remove his armor. He takes him to a facility secured by Petrov’s guards and takes them out. Gaining access he secures the rest of the floor before being contacted by Fury. Fury and Punisher trade information and some jabs at the others methods. Fury outs the agent that Punisher captured as not having any engineering skills thus moving Castle to execute him as he isn’t useful any further. Someone else in the lab they’re in is tasked with fixing the suit that they brought in. Once everything is good to go and Fury supplies needed intel Punisher resumes his war on Petrov’s forces by hitting them HARD. After he kills one of his right-hand men in his own home Fury patches through to tell him that Petrov made an announcement that the Punisher needs to leave the country as he isn’t sanctioned to be there. If the Punisher does not leave Chernaya then he faces nuclear retaliation. Fury is obviously concerned but Punisher sees the situation from another angle he is actually more motivated because his strategy of killing his closest allies has drawn Petrov out of hiding.
This is probably my favorite book in the series yet. Basically, every issue is my new favorite when they drop. I liked seeing both sides of the character skillset in this issue. When the armor was compromised Punisher went back to basics since he couldn’t rely on the suit. Once it was fixed and he could get back in it he took the fight to Petrov’s forces. The panels were a mix of beautiful and brutal. I’m excited to see where they take this one but I’m highly satisfied right now.
