Who is Shoot The Breeze Comics? Do you want to join the team?

A little over a year ago, Shoot The Breeze Comics was founded by 3 guys who love comics and a girl who was just getting into comics. What began as the Panel To Panel podcast where these friends just ranted about comics, slowly became a desire and drive for more. They saw an industry divided into many fronts. From the 3 way split between DC, Marvel, and Indie comics, the political divide in comics, a separation between the creators of comics and the fans, the distrust of comic news sources because of bias or not actually caring about the books the fans love no matter what walk of life they’re from. They were driven to be more. To be the heroes fans could trust because they were fans themselves

“My love for the genre led me to create a site where I no longer have to just stand by and be voiceless. I can have a voice and opinion about something I’ve always loved for my entire life with millions of others just like me. I would say me being a fan first led me to aspire to do something more than to just read comics I can now finally give back to the genre that has already given me so much.”

-Carlos Melendez, Co-founder,  Retired Staff Writer, Panel To Panel Co-host.

“I just wanted to celebrate the book’s I loved with my bros and talk about these pieces of literature that have influenced my life and made me who I am”

-Colin Ginter, Co-founder, Retired Editor

My love for comics has just started when Shoot The Breeze had first began as i felt drawn to the indie comic scene. Along with James, Colin and Carlos we began writing reviews and I watched and listened as they began Panel to Panel. This website has grown so much over the past year and I am so proud of how well this team has handled themselves from podcasts to conducting themselves at Comic Conventions, Shoot The Breeze Comics is a fantastic group of people who you would be lucky to work with.

-Bailie Scheer, Co-founder, retired Assistant Editor

“From a young age, I’ve loved comics, my first one ever being Young Justice (the original not the tv show comic) and these kids taught me that anyone can be a hero no matter who you are, and what you look like. After years of reading and honestly wanting to connect readers to the creators and be an advocate for the fans, we started the podcast and it led to us launching a website.”

-James Portis, Co-founder, Editor-In-Chief

Now after a year, This website is something to be commended. With a team that has grown and shrank and grown again, with the loss of team members we miss and cherish their time and influence while they were here, We continue on. With redesigns by our amazing technician Natassia, to creating amazing shows like the previously mentioned Panel To Panel, it’s sister show Thought Bubbles and the newest shows of Guardians of The Con-Life and Panel Channel to coincide with this website. Along with these, we’ve created the growing community Comic Book Outlaws. A group formed to discuss comics of all kids and share opinions about the books we love. We’ve partnered with youtube creators like Godzilla Mendoza and Nerdsmirized, as well as other websites like Word of the Nerd Online and You Dont Read Comics in an effort to work together to celebrate comics and geek media.

These amazing projects wouldn’t be possible without our writers and creators who work their butts off to make it possible. From reviewing to reporting, our team has changed in the roster, but not lost the drive to make a difference in this industry. From our reviews, our news reports, interviews with creators, and our articles about these amazing stories Shoot The Breeze Comics has become something that is growing as a platform for any and all in this industry.

Shoot the Breeze has opened up my viewpoints on different heroes and heroines through the talks with other members and getting to read the comics myself. I love being a part of something that lets me really show others how these comics have affected me.”

-Christina Williams, Managing Editor

Whatever I am reviewing be it Misfit City or X-men blue I love sharing my thoughts with the reader, also the magic moments when I get to interview or write an opinion piece make working with this team an amazing experience.

-Paul Smerdon, Staff Writer

So why explain all this? Because We’re looking for more people to join our team. Yes we’ve recruited through social media before, but we’re looking to expand and we want to show people that we’re not just some faceless website. We’re a group of people that love pieces of paper stapled together that have amazing stories and art in them. And with that love comes our responsibility to tell people about them and help them connect on a grander scale to it. So If you would like to join this team as a staff writer, editor, or if you have an idea for our youtube channel or if you want to start a podcast or even already have a podcast or show and want to join our network like amazing creators GodzillaMendoza and Nerdsmirized have done, please message one of our social media pages @shootthebreezeC, or email us at contact@on-comics-ground.com.

Thank you for your support of this amazing product and hopefully soon, we’ll be able to bring even more great things to you like merchandise, and coverage from conventions and even more amazing articles, reviews and news as we continue you be the heroes for the readers!
