X-men Blue 23 (Cry Havok Part 1)
Written by Cullen Bunn
Art by Jacopo Camagni
Lettered by VC’s Joe Caramagna
What you need to know:
With the Original X-men off world, Bloodstorm and Jimmy Hudson are left behind in Madripoor.
What just happened?
Alright so what can you expect to see in this new storyline? Ninjas make the mistake of attacking Magnetos headquarters and are caught by Polaris, but not all is as it seems…
Miss Sinister seems to be causing Magneto problems but without the 05 X-men maybe it is time to be the monster he believes he is?
Hudson and Bloodstorm are tasked to track down Sinsters’ agents, but the Hellfire club are about to give old Erik even more grief as the White Queen prepares to strike back.
Meanwhile Havok and Bastion make their play against the sentinel primes and Magneto faces off with Shaw…All in all a great start to this new arc full of twists and turns.
There was so much depth in this issue I really enjoyed it! Seeing Magneto making plays and Havok’s twisted story is very interesting. I guess he still has not been reverted back after AXIS…
Bastion is surprising stating the gene for mutants must survive especially as he almost destroyed them twice.
The art is crisp and there is some fantastic work throughout this issue…
Finally we see Bunn making the most of Hudson and Bloodstorm and that has been a long time coming… This development is great to see..
It is also good to see Toad back in the mix even if it is with the marauders, I really liked him in Wolverine and the X-men.
What a cast that has been assembled… I cannot wait until next issue!
