What You Need to Know:

Barry Allen managed to free his friends from Grodd’s control and cure Grodd of both the speed force and his life-threatening disease. Brought to his knees, Grodd wasn’t ready to lose and began his strike to bring Central City to its.

What Just Happened:

Barry and the Flash Family keep up the crusade against Grodd, playing damage control as the gorilla begins to get more reckless than ever. Grodd’s fury reigns against Barry again and again, bringing the hero to an apparent bloody pulp. But as Barry appears behind Grodd and delivers a furious parade of blows, he reveals that he used their mind link to trick Grodd into the one thing he really wanted to see. With Grodd at the end of his rope, Barry prepares his next move as the Gorilla Guards of Gorilla City arrive at the last minute, trucking Grodd away, as he’s their responsibility. Barry apologizes to both Meenah and Wally, adding Godspeed to his apology as he and Wally dash off and the full speed of the Flash Family manages to bring the speed force storm to a final close. Barry reunites with Iris, as someone watches from the future. A villain of a different Flash and one who will only recognize Wally West as the one true Flash.

Reed Strong’s Strong Read:

This issue is a big fight, but the heart of the conversation, the thought boxes, and Barry’s real dedication to his new Flash Family really makes this. He realizes his faults, and has to take palpable responsibility for what he’s done. The Flash Family reforms in an absolutely glorious splash page that’s going to be my background for a long time and an old villain is going to make Flash War an absolute treat.
