It was reported this morning that Margot Kidder passed away Sunday in her home at the age of 69. The cause is still under investigation, though no foul play is suspected.
Any comic book fan knows who Margot Kidder is, whether they know it or not. She played Lois Lane opposite Christopher Reeve’s Superman starting in 1978 and continued in the role through three sequels. Though her life was not easy, she was a beacon of hope for many as she fought, very publicly, with bipolar disease. While being an advocate for mental health, Kidder continued to take on acting jobs up until this year.
For many, she is the first Lois Lane we are aware of and her performance will leave a lasting impression on many. She is survived by her daughter.
