What You Need to Know: Now that Father Fred has been cleared of Murder and had his first sermon, you would think he was feeling better about being the new Priest in town. But after finding some hidden files left from the last Priest of 30 years, Father Fred has found the “Doc” and more than he was ready for about the mysterious “Black Barn”.
In This Issue: Father Fred is feeling way over his head as he sees the Doctor’s Conspiracy Theory-like wall all about the history of the Black Barn. After a small history lesson, he learns of the “Ploughmen”, a collection of local men of influence who have stood against the Darkness of the Black Barn since the turn of the last century. One of those members was the late Father Tom and another is Deputy Ballard. Not believing in the nonsense, Father Fred heads to Sheriff Miller’s house to tell her what he has found. Meanwhile, Doctor Xu has another terrifying encounter that finally makes her believe Norton and his stories about the Black Barn.
After a heartfelt conversation between the Father and the Deputy, a call comes from Deputy Ballard that brings them both to a horrifying discovery at the Reddy Farm…
And MAAAAANNN does it get creepy! Okay so this series has been creepy since day one but as with all good horrors, once you start to learn about the back story, things start to escalate. It’s still the slow build up that makes it interesting with little jumps thrown in. The artwork is starting to grow on me more and more with its “scratchy style” and this issue is NOT for little kids. More people are coming into the story that are clearly going to have an effect on things and as always, watch out for the color RED!
