Still going blind and going after former members of the Thunderbolts, Clint finds himself in the care of an old friend: Kate, who was also called Hawkeye as well due to her skills being on par with Clint himself. Though he has a moment to rest, he is still feeling the effects from his fight with the Venom symbiote. The symbiote is trying to find him to finish the job. Also Bullseye draws ever closer…
We begin with Hawkeye having a dream and he wakes up with Kate’s town about to be under siege. The symbiote army attacks, putting her refuge in jeopardy. She and Clint try to fight them off to no avail. Due to some quick thinking, they decide to lure the symbiotes away by jumping in a car. The symbiotes give chase and almost catch them until a timely intervention saves the two Hawkeyes. A special guest appearance saves their lives.
We then flash to Taskmaster who was shown last issue discussing going after Bullseye for shirking his duties. He is talking to other agents where they unveil a secret weapon of sorts and there’s another special guest appearance. After the Taskmaster part, we go back to the Hawkeye duo. They stop to chat after narrowly escaping death and Kate rips Clint for luring the bad guys to her people. He decides to tell her everything.
This issue had a lot on the line and it delivered. I felt bad that Clint led the symbiotes to Kate but I guess being on the run with few options, he did what he had to do. The dialogue between the two was also a standout part of the issue. Since Kate needs somethings explained, I feel we’ll get some more backstory of the tragedy that befell many of the hero community. The guest appearances make this issue great in comparison to others of this run. Either way, it’s been solid since its beginning and I can’t wait for Bullseye to find Hawkeye.
