“News Flash” Dark Horse Announces new G Willow Wilson Comic, The Invisible Kingdom

The Invisible Kingdom

The Invisible Kingdom by Christian Ward

It’s a collaboration most comic fans could only dream of previously! Hugo-Award winning writer G Willow Wilson (Ms. Marvel) and super-star artist Christian Ward (ODY-C) are teaming up with Dark Horse Comics’ Berger Books imprint to launch an all-new Sci-Fi epic in “The Invisible Kingdom”!

This marks a return to creator-owned projects for both G Willow Wilson (who was recently under an exclusivity-contract with Marvel Comics), and Christian Ward after finishing the critical darling Black Bolt series (also for Marvel). The two will be working with the legendary Karen Berger, the original founder of Vertigo Comics herself! The first collaboration between Wilson and Ward, of the writer and editor Karen Berger, Ward said “I’m thrilled not only to be returning to a big creator-owned sci-fi but to be working with Karen Berger and G. Willow Wilson.”

Wilson’s excitement is also quite palpable, as she was quoted as saying, “It’s a delight to be working with my mentor Karen Berger once again, especially on such an exciting project” Adding of her artist Ward, “Christian Ward’s art is truly visionary — this is one of the most dynamic collaborations I’ve ever been involved with. I can’t wait to show the world what we’ve cooked up.”

Launching March of next year, the series stars a fighter pilot & a religious acolyte (both women) from a far-off galaxy uncovering a vast conspiracy linking the galaxy’s most prominent religion & corporation. More information on the series itself is set to be revealed during the “Berger Books: Second Wave” panel this Friday at 5PM at San Diego Comic-Con.

Overall this new series like music to my ears! Be sure to keep an eye out for more information on this new series as it comes!
