Spinning out of No Justice, Justice League Odyssey was supposed to send the Justice League into outer space for intergalactic adventures this summer. Unfortunately, the book, written by Joshua Williamson with art from Stjepan Sejic has been delayed once again. The book won’t even be coming out this summer anymore.
Newsarama reports that “DC Comics has informed retailers that the first three issues of Justice League Odyssey have been rescheduled, pushing back the release dates for a second time.” Justice League Odyssey was originally supposed to begin on July 11, 2018, but it was pushed back to August. Newsarama now reports that “Justice League Odyssey #1 is now scheduled for September 27 – moving off the original July 11. Justice League Odyssey #2 and #3 have subsequently been rescheduled for October 24 and November 24. DC has cancelled the original orders for #2 and #3, resoliciting them in the August and September DC Previews.”
Fans waiting to see Cyborg, Jessica Cruz, Azrael, Starfire team up with Darkseid will have to wait a few more months. It seems to be a strange decision to continue to push this book back, and it could potentially alienate fans, comic book retailers, and the writer and artist. Hopefully when this book finally comes out, fan interest will remain strong for this particular title.
