*News Flash* Old City Blues in Development at HULU

NEWSFLASH:

BOOM Studios has announced that OLD CITY BLUES  is in development at Hulu. Created by Giannis Milonogiannis, who also wrote G.I Joe and Prophet, for Boom Studios’ imprint Archaia imprint, it is critically acclaimed.

Kerry Washington of Scandal fame is set to star and executive produce the series. Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean, Rango) is attached as director and EP the series as well. The pilot episode has been penned by Arash Amel (The Titan, Butterfly, a graphic novel created for Archaia imprint) who will also EP. The show will be produced by Makeready TV studio.

OLD CITY BLUES is set in the near future, following the men and women of the New Athen Police Force. After a disastrous flood on what used to be Greece, New Athens is a new, independent city created and owned by Hayashi Corporation, a technology giant. When the cybernetically altered founder is found dead, it is written off as another case of cyborg prejudice and persecution. The reaction Hayashi Corporation has to the murder, however, sparks the interest and suspicions of the lead detective and the Special Police. The mystery leads them straight into the Old City.

While there is no release date set of OLD CITY BLUES, it is part of BOOM studios’ ongoing leap into film and television, which also includes projects like The Mouse Guard  and Lumberjanes.
