Initially inseparable Ben Grimm aka the Thing and Johnny Storm aka the Human Torch were good friends, the best of friends even. Their friendship had been tested over the course of this adventure until it finally snapped at the wrong time. Them becoming powerless and the revelation that Reed and Sue could really be dead led Storm to attack Ben out of grief. They’ve accepted the fact they need to live as humans in the meantime sending out distress signals hoping the others can see them and contact them. They got an answer but it’s not who they’re expecting at all.

Recap:
Johnny and Ben are still on the run from the forces of the evil version of Spider-Man currently ruling that reality. They’re still on the run and are trying to stay undercover while leading somewhat normal lives. Amadeus contacts them to let them know hostages were taken by a different group possibly not even linked to the Spider Gang they’re trying to hide from. Ben and Johnny while powerless decide to investigate anyway and come across an evil version of the Fantastic 4 being led by the Thinker. Since the good 4 are still not together this newer version is trying to exist and the only one. The Thinker and some of the other members of the group attack Ben and Johnny. The heroes do surprisingly well against their opponents and are able to make a quick get-away. Unfortunately, while trying to regroup they run over a mine which blows up their vehicle and sends them flying. They seem to recover but both pass out. As they lose consciousness we see evidence of their powers returning. It seems the rest of the F4 might be near…

Opinion:
This series was running full speed ahead and slowed down for a couple of issues. From this issue on it seems it’ll pick up though and I’m here for it. We’ve all been waiting for the band to get back together and we’ve taken another step toward it. If it’s the actual group or the alternate ones though certainly remains to be seen.

Summary
We’ve been waiting for the F4 to make a comeback for years and it seems we’re finally right there. This is one of the most beloved groups and families in comics and has been that way for years. Ben and Johnny getting their powers back is a good move as well as I certainly wasn’t a fan of them not having them. I just want the 4 back. We’ll see what happens from here.
Good
