Review: This issue is a non-stop action thrill ride from beginning to end. It barely stops to take a breath and I was fully engrossed the whole time reading it. While it was very fun and exciting, I did feel that it came at the expense of the story. By the end of the issue, I felt the plot had not progressed as much as it could have. That’s a minor gripe though as this issue was so constantly fun that I didn’t even notice the lack of story progression until long after I was done. On top of the action, the dialogue added immensely to the fun I had reading this book. Tomasi just gets these characters and every word out of their mouths was charming and funny. I especially loved the interactions between Superboy Red and Blue. They bicker like brothers and it’s just hilarious.
The art remains a definite highlight of this book. It’s cartoony, bombastic, and has colors that pop beautifully.
