The issue kicks off with the Titans are in their boom room heading for a ship in a fleet of alien invaders. The invaders are part of the ‘Drowned Earth’ storyline. They get to the ship and start fighting their way to the engine room. Steel gets Intel to give back to the Justice League, so they can destroy the entire fleet. They’re stopped when a huge man attacks them. Only Garth Atlantean magic seems to hurt it.
It always annoys me when a book you are reading is part of a crossover event that you had no interest in reading in the first place. Yet here we have just that. The ‘Drowned Earth’ event has no interest for me, even after reading this. It starts off with lots of monologue from Donna. She reiterates recent events as they fight through the ship.
Whilst it was nice to see Tempest back, I wish it was a more permanent thing and not just for the event. I also wish the title’s own arc about the blood cult would pick up some pace as it seems to be a slow burner and I’m hoping for a better second arc, as I do believe this line-up does have potential. I think they should take the Titans away from being part of the league and make their own independent team and focus on their relationships. Maybe add some members and have a rotating roster.
