What you need to know:

Uncanny X-men has been the flag title for over 50 years with more than 600 issue and ended in 2017 with Magneto’s band of merry mutants each Uncanny tale and team leads to amazing reading over the decades now a new chapter is about to begin.

What just happened?

New team assembled with Jean Grey, Kitty Pyrde, Bishop, Storm, X23, Psylocke, Nightcrawler, Jubilee, Iceman, Beast, Polaris, Cannonball, Archangel, Northstar, Armor, Pixie, Rockslide, Oya, Anole and Glob this appears to be a big cast and no Wolverine in sight I am already satisfied.

This issue is a whopping big issue but as well as the main story we also get an Epilogue with individual stories from Bishop, Jean Grey, Armor & Anole.

So what is the story about first of all it starts with psychic daydream and he team killing a shed load of Multiple men crying out where’s Kitty this sparks the beginning of one crazy mystery? I really enjoy the moments like Kitty gearing up the younger members for a mission, of course, it goes south in true X-men fashion when she loses control of her power and crashes the plane, but that’s only the beginning as the young X-men are attacked.

Bishop and Jubilee are babysitting Senator Bigot aka Aston Allen guess what he is running his campaign on, yes that’s right hatred of mutants and he is pushing for another vaccine, it is nice to see Betsy and Warren together in this scene oh and Jubilee brought tomatoes

Anyway even with an interesting speech from Jamie Multiple Men seem to be coming out of the woodwork and it gets messy real fast plus who is Angel listening to?

I guess the next question who has taken Senator Allen and Kitty Pryde, oh and also there is another unexpected guest?

Final thoughts:

First of the art is absolutely stunning, Mahmud not only captures the big action scenes he gives us the little scenes between our favorite characters showing the writers vision.

I am loving the banter between certain the likes of Iceman and Laura this helps give a sense of family between the X-men members because that’s how I have always seen this growing group of misfits.

I love how each small group of this larger team gets a part of the larger puzzle, for example, Beast and Storm are exploring and unnatural storm event in Botswana Africa, its leading to the bigger picture.

A very solid return a story that flowed with action, character development and a real plot Uncanny is back and very welcome return it reminds me of the X-glory days.

I have been into comics since the early 90's and my main passion has been X-men I collect books, figures and any collectiables I can get my hands on. For shoot the breeze I have the pleasure opening my eyes to new worlds and adventures. I also do the Across the Pond Trades where I get an opportunity to look at trade paperbacks and review them via our YouTube channel. I also have my own Facebook page and Youtube called Smerdp which is full of plastic goodness. Many Thanks Paul
