A Visit From The X’s (Mr. and Mrs. X #6 Comic Review)

Mr. and Mrs. X #6-King and Queen

Writer: Kelly Thompson

Artist: David Lopez

Color: Nayoung Kim

Cover: Terry Dodson and Rachel Dodson

Letters: Joe Sabino

Synopsis: Gambit and Rogue are throwing a party, and you’re invited! Guest-starring every X-Man their apartment can fit! Hey, who invited the Thieves Guild?!

What You’ll Need To Know: They finally saved Xandra, the offspring of Charles Xavier and Lilandra and she is in the care of someone who loves her. However, in the midst of a crazy battle, something new in Rogue awakened, a new power. She can absorb the thoughts and abilities of others, without physical contact. Along with a total knock-out.

In This Issue: So finally, Rogue and Gambit get to spend time together as newlyweds and celebrate with their close friends. They didn’t have a whole lot of time since their honeymoon was hectic to say the least. That did start a couple fights between them, especially Rogue having to fake her own death. That stress was partially responsible in the rise of her new power. Her biggest fear has come true, but they are trying to make the best of it and she is going to wear a power inhibiting collar. It may be hard when an in-law shows up along with the rest of the thieves guild. We all know Remy Lebeau has had a rough past born into a family of thieves, but he left it behind. Mostly. These attackers from the Thieves Guild claim that Gambit is their King and he can’t leave them behind. Rogue, in turn, drains them all. She wanted a quick battle since she had a party to prep. His ex, Bella Donna Boudreaux shows up (unbenounced to Rogue) and warns Remy that he has to be a good leader if he doesn’t want their rivals the Assassins to come after them, and that he needs a good queen by his side. Rogue has a visitor too, Magneto, her ex. We all know about their romance and rivalry. Rogue wanted to apologize for not directly telling Magneto about the wedding in person (good move) and she doesn’t want him to become a villain again (I think we’re referring to X-Men Black). Either way, Erik still gives her relationship advice. We don’t see his side much here, he may be hurt to see his ex love with someone else!

Party’s over, they receive some good gifts a power inhibitor bracelet curiosity of Beast, and a box to an alternate reality! Stay tuned for a new episode of Mojo-Vision!

Hey nerds! I'm a 23 year old cosplayer from Southern California who loves comic books as well! I love going to metal and punk shows. I'm a hostess on Shoot The Breeze Comics' shows Thought Bubbles, Panel to Panel, and Guardians of the Con-Life.
Summary
Loved it! We haven’t gotten to see the two in their element at home, only at a resort and in space! It is far from a normal day off though, they are confronted by something most newlyweds don’t want to be confronted by Ex’s and in-laws! But that makes it all the more interesting! We had awesome guests as artists and colorists and still brought the liveliness to the comic. I’m excited for the rest of the story line!
