Honeymoonlighting Reboot REBOOT (Mr. and Mrs. X #7 Comic Review)

Mr. and Mrs. X #7-Rogue and Gambit Forever Part 1

Writer: Kelly Thompson

Art: Oscar Bazaldua

Cover: Terry & Rachel Dodson

Color: Frank D’Armata

Letters: Joe Sabino

Synopsis: Stuck in the Mojoverse! Rogue and Gambit are forced to relive moments of their past…but this time for the cameras!

What You’ll Need To Know: Rogue and Gambit have a late engagement party with their X-Men friends! They get a surprise from Gambit’s father and the thieves guild. They claim that he needs to be present as “Their King” (hence the last issue’s title). BUT he left that life as a thieve long ago. That seems to be a predicament we will be revisiting, but for now, a gift from a visitor got them in the grip of Mojo!

In This Issue: They are in Mojo’s world! How did they even end up here and WHO on Earth thought that’d be a good gift to give to someone! A little jealousy from an ex could be why they ended up in this mess. A prank from a teammate. Mojo wants high ratings and hot hot heat for Mojoverse, and he chose the perfect X couple! I feel like Rogue and Gambit’s banter and chemistry is perfect for not only plots, but to keep readers on their toes. Who else could make an alternate universe and a slightly campy plot so interesting and funny? The two have dramatic pasts like an superhero does, but are less serious characters. They both have the sex appeal for a noir movie they’re sucked into and the steamy romance, and that’s beneficial but also bites them in the ass.

Hey nerds! I'm a 23 year old cosplayer from Southern California who loves comic books as well! I love going to metal and punk shows. I'm a hostess on Shoot The Breeze Comics' shows Thought Bubbles, Panel to Panel, and Guardians of the Con-Life.
Summary
Awesome issue! Thought it’d be just a filler, but it’s a storyline we could get a lot out of. The cover is super memorable and greatly illustrated. Along with the art and different outfits. Can’t wait to see what this all brings!
