Still stuck in the Zemo’s prison after being tortured, Frank is still scheming on his escape. He hasn’t had much luck lately and a considerable amount of time has passed since he has longer hair and a beard. As Frank is being framed for multiple murders on the outside he is befriended by Sister Mercy, a nun who has also ran afoul of Zemo. Could she help Frank get out? Or is she trying to do something else?

Recap:.
Frank continues to be trapped in prison while he is framed for murders. Jigsaw who was masquerading as the Punisher in earlier issues continues his murder spree wearing the Punishers costume with this skull emblem. Zemo gifted it to him when Frank was taken into custody a couple of issues before that. After being given a towel (Which he was missing at the start of the conversation) he and Sister Mercy get to talking about her and Franks shared philosophy and some of the way going forward. She tells Frank that his continued resistance to Zemo within the prison opens the door for increased punishment for other members of the prison. Franks is less than receptive to the plea however and interferes with the guards hitting another prisoner. As usual Frank pisses of the prison guards who attack him later in his cell. He fights them off until they are interrupted by a mystery partner who Zemo has…paid to keep an eye on Castle. Frank interferes again with the Prison guards after one hit’s Sister Mercy. The guards are incensed and decide to beat Frank which he takes without fighting back. Frank ends up in the hospital with Sister Mercy by his side. He wakes up and they get started on their plan to take the prison over.

Opinion:
This issue was ok overall but it seemed to be a bit slower than the pas few. Not saying it’s bad per se but the switch in tone is quite evident which can be attributed to Frank not being in control of events and pushing the action like he was doing while free and on the streets. Sister Mercy’s character I find interesting though we wait to see if she has any ulterior motives or are they just purely in line with Franks. The cameo was nice and seeing that Frank still has hands as he was wrestling and fighting without weapons for the couple of scraps he was involved in over the course of the issue.

Summary
This issue was as soaked in testosterone as some of the issues before but that’s not necessarily bad. Frank has been rotting in prison and it appears it’s time to take over. One can never underestimate the Punisher’s ability to prep so stayed tuned. This one is about to turn the corner and get crazy again.
