In this Issue:

Dr. Eggman’s plan is alive and unwell, as he begins the process of infecting the entire world with his living metal virus! Meanwhile, Tangle the lemur comes to pay a visit to Sonic and Tails, where she’s brought up to speed on Sonic’s own infection with the metal virus. Turns out, he’s still contagious, and he runs off to ‘stop Eggman.’

Kai’s Thoughts:

This issue is even scarier than the last. The living metal virus is a scary zombie infection. We see innocent animals spreading the infection all over the place, and Eggman takes revenge on the kind animals from the beginning of the series. The story is taking a darker turn here, and while it is still kid-friendly, it is getting scary. Reading this issue, I realized how invested I actually am in this storyline. We know Sonic will win, it’s a Sonic story. But the journey has become intense enough to keep me invested. I really love the cutesy art combined with the vague horror of a zombie metal virus. The story, in my opinion, has overall managed to keep the balance between something for kids, and something that adults won’t hate. If you’re a Sonic fan, you can’t go wrong with this series. This is also a pretty good jumping on point as the infection is properly introduced and the spread of the virus is now the main story.

Summary
Here's a decent jumping on point as it truly introduces the ZOMBOT Living metal plague story. The art is cute, and this issue was more intense than the last. I am really enjoying this series, and am more invested than I thought I was. It keeps a decent balance between being for kids and being something adults will enjoy. The ZOMBOT infection story might be a little too scary for sensitive kids.
