What You Need to Know: During a hiatus, Carol learned her Mother was actually a Kree Warrior (read “The Life of Captain Marvel” for the catch up), which makes her half Kree! Tony Stark insisted that her image needed a little lift and she agreed to do a high-profile interview. But during which, she and the interviewer were kidnapped by Nuclear Man and trapped them in an apocalyptic Wasteland. Once Carol defeated Nuclear Man and saved the day, she went back to trying to live her life. Until the article came out and painted her in a less than flattering way, but that’s not all that’s even the worst of it yet!

In This Issue: Harpswell Maine is the home of the Danvers Family, and Carol Danvers is at home thinking about the last few days. Boy have they been bad. It started when a fleet of unidentified Organic ships entered Earth. With a little help from Spider-Woman and Hazmat, Carol just barely makes it out alive but not because the ships are tough but because Carol realizes that something is physically wrong. Once the dust and Carol settles, she finds a disoriented Kree pilot inside and more questions than answers. Including the appearance of a new hero named STAR who resembles Carol to a slightly creepy extent. But in the next few days, Carol only has time to stop villains while the news rants about Star but questions Carol’s loyalty to be an actual Hero with pictures of her helping the Kree pilot. So much so that it has the people of New York against her and soon the Military she works for. Here we are back at the Danvers’s house and a group of Carol’s friends have arrived to cheer her up, including She-Hulk to help with that acing want Carol has to just Punch Something. But there is one later guest who gets Carol really thinking if Earth is worth her time anymore.

Ok, first of all, is it just me or was NO ONE concerned as much as they should have by the appearance of a new hero that looks JUST like Carol or are new heroes appearing out of nowhere just the new norm. Hero’s just come and go so its no big deal when a new one shows up and starts getting popular with the media. I would think if a new one pops up literally out of the sky the Avengers would be all over who this mystery person it. Granted, yes Carol has a lot of other issues going on with her body and the same media who want her head for being half-alien, which is a whole other issue. We’ve seen this kind of argument in many other comics where it becomes an issue and shows us the reality of what’s going on in the real world. The Kree aren’t exactly liked by the people of Earth and having hidden this secret from people, the world would be a little upset. But when Carol has always given it her all for the People of Earth, how will she actually handle when the People of Earth turn her back on her.

Summary
It’s time for a new Chapter for Captain Marvel and this one is starting off with a bang! No literally, between the World finding out about Carol’s Kree bloodline, the appearance of a new Hero AND something internally wrong with Carol she has a lot of mess to clean up.
