Intro:
Ben and Alicia finally get to go on their honeymoon only to have a destructive uninvited guest crash the party.
Thoughts:
I thought this issue was super cute. I had a great time watching Ben and Alicia be cute and romantic. Just in general I appreciate when fictional relationships focus on the couple getting along instead of them fighting. When all you see is characters fighting it’s hard to understand why their together.
Now, since it’s on the cover we should probably talk about the Hulk vs Thing fight. It’s definitely as big and destructive as you’d think a fight like that would be. There’s also a good amount of tension over how the fight is going to end. Part of that is because they’ve revealed to the reader who is behind the fight, but Ben doesn’t know. So, there’s some tension about whether or not he’ll figure it out, or even win the fight. The issue does a great job of engaging the audience in what is really just two dudes punching each other.
I have to say that the art in the issue appeals to me a lot more than the last one. I felt like the art in the last issue was inconsistent. This issue didn’t have that problem and it felt a lot more solid.
