After his corporate jet crashes onto a remote island. Bruce is rescued by two WWII pilots who had happened to both be not only marooned there but be from separate sides. The two have been there for most of their lives have had the time to become great friends. They help nurse Bruce back to health, he explains to them the situation and they agree to help him save the other people on the plane. Loaning him their gear, he dons what can only be described as an Aviator Batman.
Deadshot is still at large and the survivors of the crash still in danger. With a bit more help from Clarence and Hiroshi, Bruce prepares a trap with hopes to subdue the hired gun long enough for rescue to arrive. After clipping Hiroshi in their exchange its time for a showdown. Can Bruce, bring everyone home whole?
This three-issue arc was very fun. The way it tapped into nostalgia from a rough time and turned it into something wholesome was very interesting to see. The art lent itself to this with its neo silver age feel. This whole arc was very well done and subtle which in this publication is a great change of pace.
