Last Issue

The Batman Who Laughs introduces his Secret Six. Jim Gordon, Blue Beetle, Donna Troy, Carter Hall, Kara Zor El, and Shazam all infected and under new management. Bruce and Clark desperately try and convince their friends that they can choose a different path. The Six are too far gone at this point. Fully subscribed to Dark Bruce’s philosophy, pushing to wipe their own universe to destruction to wipe the slate clean. Infected Jim Gordon have more swagger that 2007 Lil Wayne.

This Issue

As the battle heats up, The Secret Six bring in the Watchtower from The Batman Who Laughs home universe. Retrofitted with dark metal, the Watchtower will act as a beacon to start infecting out universe. With Kara and Shazam keeping Clark at bay; along with Carter, Jaime, and Jim keeping Bruce very busy. The pressure is higher than ever to get this Watchtower out of the sky.

Thoughts

The conclusion to this mini series was a little anticlimactic. Not to worry though, that was intentional. With how this book ends, we know for sure this isn’t the last we see of TBMWL or his Secret Six. The artwork is stunning, swapping from the very detail oriented art we always get to some manga style action panels. Drip Gordon (patent pending) is a new look that I am absolutely here for.

Born in Florida, dragged to California because of Internet dating. Comics have always helped me have a healthy escape when I was younger. As I got older my friends used me as their comic encyclopedia for random trivia. Now, I show my daughter all the stories and characters that helped me through, and being able to share my views on that through reviews is one of my favorite privileges.
Summary
Overall I liked these five issues. It just feels a little soft of an ending for how hard this whole miniseries went. I was hoping for something with a bit more immediate impact. This will still suffice.
Good
  • Dynamic Art
  • Exciting Character Development
  • Great Conclusion
Bad
  • Wanted more bang for 5 issues.
