Last Issue

The Batman Who Laughs has revealed his Secret Six, six people very close in proximity to Bruce and Clark. They plan on using their master’s Watchtower retrofitted with dark metal to bring ruin to our heroes’ universe. Bruce and Clark finally resolve to work together and trust each other based on their mutual strengths just in time to teleport the TBMWL’s dimension pulse bomb into the sun.

This Issue

In the wake of these events, Bruce and Clark resolve to tell everyone what has happened to them and their friends with their colleagues. The heroes’ in the background all talking amongst each other how those two keeping secrets is always causing issue for the rest of the world. Bruce and Clark hope to undo that very stigma.

They start/end their journey telling Diana about Donna, coming to help her fight what appears to be demons. Turns out, Their showdown with TBMWL wasn’t a quiet one by any means. Every hero already talking about where he was and who was affected by these happenings. After our trio helps Diana with her current struggle she asks, “Where’s Donna?”

There is still much work to be done in this and what it causes. In time, I do hope we get Bruce and Clark asking for more help than just each other ever again. This could’ve been bad, for everyone. Far more risk than reward when kept secret.

Thoughts

This issue was of a different variety than what w are used to. We don’t normally see big-name characters dedicate a whole issue to a shift in the status quo. Something of this nature is normally left for big event resolutions. Not to downplay this event, but it’s no crisis. So I’m not sure how exactly to feel about this issue. The feelings, however, are positive. Though I’m very skeptical about this new system in place. Maybe that’s a product of decades of Bruce induced paranoia. We shall see.

Straight up and out. The preview for the next arc has me HYPED. I won’t spoil of course. I will say have a very few next issues ahead of us.

Summary
I really like the first five issues of this. So it really feels like this series blew its load slightly too early and left us with an issue of reflection. Which, let's be honest, Bruce isn't going to adhere too. Being honest is not Bruce's strong suit so Brother Eye that everyone controls is a bad idea. We all know there isn't a piece of Wayne Tech in existence that can keep Bruce out.
