What You Need to Know:

In the last issue, Woody seemed to have unlocked the power to see into the future. Him and his brother Quantum go and save the Capitol Building from an attack from a family of supervillains, winning the day! …. After Quantum punches the young child villain right in the face.

What Happens:

Woody has yet another premonition, an attack at an ice skating rink. They arrive on the scene and face the villain, the living brain Dr. Toilet(pronounced Twah-Lay). But during the fight, the mysterious myth known as “The Apprehension” arrives to put a stop to it. Toilet escapes to the zoo after taking control of a child, and Quantum, Woody and Apprehension join forces to try to stop him after some arguing and incompetence among each other.

Thoughts:

This was pretty fun. The book’s main priority is comedy and it definitely excels at that. I like Quantum and Woody’s dynamic about as much as last issue, they’re both pretty funny together. The Apprehension feels like a Samus Aran reference given the design and their identity at the end of the issue. Toilet is fun, just a giant brain with a skull that mind controls anyone he attaches to, which is put to fun and creative effect in the zoo. Ryan Browne’s art and Ruth Redmond’s colors go very well together in this series, the art is really well done. Overall this is a fun time. It’s kinda hard to summarize since it’s mostly jokes and comedy, so it’s better to just read it yourself to get an idea of how funny it can really be.
