What You Need to Know:
Quantum and Woody took down Dr. Toilet wit the help of the legendary hero “The Apprehension”. The 3 have agreed to work together in figuring out Woody’s prophesying powers and fighting whatever crazy crimes and stuff they have to deal with.
At Quantum and Woody’s old school 2 kids encounter ghosts. Quantum tries training his powers to get better like Woody seemingly has with his future seeing, but is frustrated with his progress. As it turns out though, Woody doesn’t have new powers, he’s being told this future knowledge by someone else and he’s hiding it from Quantum. Apprehension gets the 2 into their old school as fake substitute teachers to find out what’s going on after another “vision” from Woody. Turns out one of the students, Kara, has been missing ever since her parents died in a car crash. The guidance counselor takes Kara’s best friend Melissa to his office after learning she was close to her. Later that night, the two encounter the ghosts of Kara’s parents in the halls, as well as the guidance counselor! Turns out he was a scientist who discovered the afterlife and kidnapped Kara after her parents died to summon their ghosts. He then kidnapped Melissa because Kara’s getting weaker and will die soon too. And so Quantum punches him in the face and launches him into the wall. And then again to the moon. And so the 2 leave, with the child supervillain from the first issue learning who Quantum is from one of the other students.
This was easily the best issue so far. There’s a lot of great jokes here, like with the principal being the same from Quantum and Woody’s childhood and how he just hates everyone around him at all times. Throughout the issues, we get flashbacks to when they were at school, and how Quantum’s time at the school wasn’t great because of the principal, like the time he took his game away and kept it for the past 20 years. Thankfully he got his revenge after stealing it back after all this time. The story in this issue is the strongest it’s been the whole run, and because of that, the jokes land way harder this time for me. There’s not much else to add, it’s funny, it’s good, I liked this one.
