Last Issue
We are introduced to a family of four. Dad preparing for a trip, readying his three kids so he can go out and find supplies for them in this post-apocalyptic environment. They run drills for the next wave, a phenomenon characterized by an ominous sound that that drives all of the people mad, but Bec, Ty, and Steph aren’t babies anymore and for them waves are commonplace. With his mind on his children and hope in his step, Dad departs to find more supplies for his family, with a jar full of chirpers, a bug that helps detect the waves, to keep him somewhat safe.
This Issue
Very shortly after Dad’s departure, a wave sweeps through. Ty being caught up outside sprints back to the house to strap down Steph, hearing the chirpers sound the alarm. Bec turns back to help him get inside but doesn’t have enough to time to strap herself down. Knowing the risks she locks herself out of the room with her siblings safely inside.
Meanwhile, Dad comes out of his meditative state as the wave ends. Seeing a man he had previously interacted with laying dead in the street, a casualty of the last wave. Elsewhere, Bec pries open the bunker door to make sure her brothers are okay, while she is the one that needs a check-up.
Thoughts
This second issue is great. The effort put into the feeling of helpless isolation in the wake of these waves is something I haven’t seen in some time. This issue seemed to be geared towards world-building and turning up the tension. I’m excited about the next issue.

Summary This is gearing to be a very good story, I'm just worried that the space between releases may drive down the interest. Honestly, that isn't fair to this story.
